CITY FOR CHILDREN
🧡Espoo/
Länsi-Uusimaa
Espoo is a better city for all when it is designed with children in mind. Everyday exercise opportunities, safe walking and cycling routes, and high-quality day care centres, schools, and libraries create a smooth and joyful daily life. No child should be left behind in school because we need each and every one of them to help build a better world!
Social and health care services must take better care of those who cannot fend for themselves. Vulnerable groups such as children of families with substance abuse, the disabled, and the elderly too often fall through the cracks of society. Early help for substance abuse problems, support for informal caregivers, and skilled care reduce costs in the long run.Â
We can take care of the most vulnerable when the economy is solid. Therefore, municipalities and wellbeing services counties must only focus on the most important things. Procurement expertise must be increased in administration, and in-house procurements, which are proven to be expensive, must be limited. The focus of municipal taxation should be shifted from municipal tax to property tax, and the overall tax rate should be lowered.
Sanna Kurronen - About me
I am an economist both by profession and by heart. I became interested in the functioning of the economy in high school, and I have never regretted my career choice. I have worked for over ten years as a bank economist in various commercial banks and I have focused on Finland's economic policy in my work at a think tank.
I believe in science. Science is not infallible, but self-correcting, and that is what makes science so comforting. Not everything has to be perfect, and it's okay to be wrong as long as you change your stance when new information emerges.
Life with small children can sometimes be exhausting, but it is always full of life. I strive to make the world as good as I can for the children. In turn, children will solve the challenges of the future, and we cannot afford to let any child fall through the cracks of society.
I was born in Lippajärvi, ran around as a child in Kilo, and as a teenager in Mankkaa. As a young adult, I lived and worked in Leppävaara. In Tapiola, I fell in love and had children. Locally, I am active in the school's parent association. I prefer to commute by metro, and my bike too often stays at home.
In my free time, you can find me at the ice rink or tennis hall, at the outdoor gym in the summer, and on the ski trails in a favorable winter. The call of the north is irresistible, and we drive to Lapland in both summer and winter – of course, with an electric car.
I am an enthusiastic cook, and my Karelian stew even made it into Suomen kuvalehti -magazine! It's most enjoyable to cook with my own catch, such as mushrooms, berries, or fish. However, the best part of food is eating it: the more loved ones around, the better.
